1920’s Blue Mason Jar with original zinc lid filled with goodies for graduation.

Here is one of my first Pinterest inspired projects of the summer.  This eighth grade graduation gift was made for my “nephew.”  After selecting one of my favorite 1/2 gallon jars from my collection, I created a monogram using my Cricut and some white vinyl.  I then cut a square of black card stock about 5 inches by 5 inches, and a strip of black paper to fit around the sides of the jar lid. I cut it a little bit taller than needed so I could cut tabs that could be laid flat and glued to the top of the hat.  I then found some fluffy yellow ribbon I made into a tassel and attached it with a black ribbon to the top of the hat by pressing a large black brad through the top of the hat.  The jar was filled with money, candy bars, and an iTunes gift card.  What else could a 14 year old ask for?
